Registration for CLAT 2026 will start from August 1, and the exam will be held on December 7, 2025. This exam will be conducted for admission in LLB and LLM courses in 24 National Law Universities of the country.

The National Law University (NLU) Consortium has released the complete schedule of CLAT 2026 (Common Law Admission Test). This exam is conducted for admission to 24 National Law Universities of the country. Through this exam, students can take admission in a 5-year Integrated LLB and a 1-year LLM course.
When will the registration start?
Online registration for CLAT 2026 will start from 1 August 2025 and the last date for filling the form has been fixed as 31 October 2025. Interested candidates can apply by visiting the website consortiumofnlus.ac.in. The exam will be held on 7 December 2025 (Sunday) from 2 pm to 4 pm.
Who can apply?
For the 5-year LLB course, the candidate must have passed 10+2 i.e. intermediate examination. At least 45% marks are mandatory for students of General, OBC, PWD, NRI, PIO or OCI category. 40% marks are sufficient for SC and ST category students.
For LLM course, the candidate must have an LLB degree. 50% marks are required for General, OBC, PWD, NRI, PIO or OCI category, while 45% marks are required for SC and ST category.
What is the registration fee?
The application fee for CLAT 2026 has been fixed according to different categories. General, OBC category students will have to pay a fee of Rs 4,000. SC, ST and BPL category students will have to pay an application fee of Rs 3,500.
What will be special in the exam?
CLAT 2026 will be an offline, pen-paper mode exam in which questions based on law related subjects will be asked. The exam will be of two hours. Through this, there will be an opportunity to get admission in 24 prestigious National Law Universities across the country.
