It has been raining heavily since morning in many states, including Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Himachal Pradesh, Kerala, Karnataka, and Maharashtra. Along with the drop in temperature, a few hours of rain have increased the problem of waterlogging (Aaj Ka Mausam). In such a situation, it is a big problem for the children to reach school. Schools are open despite heavy rains in Delhi-NCR. In some Muslim-dominated areas, a holiday was declared today also due to Muharram.

Karnataka: All schools and colleges have been declared closed on July 7 due to heavy rains in Kodagu (Coorg) district. In other areas of Karnataka, especially South Karnataka, there is a heavy rain alert between July 6 and 9 12, due to which the local administration may decide to close the school.
Chhattisgarh: Schools have been closed on July 7 due to heavy rains in Jagdalpur. IMD has warned of extremely heavy rains in Chhattisgarh on July 6-7, due to which schools may be closed in other districts as well. Children can call the school and find out the latest update.
Rajasthan: Eastern Rajasthan (Jaipur, Ajmer, Kota, Bharatpur, Udaipur) is likely to receive extremely heavy rains on July 7-9. Schools have already been closed due to rain in some districts like Sawai Madhopur, Karauli, Bharatpur, and Dausa. Light to moderate rain is expected in Western Rajasthan (Jodhpur, Bikaner).
Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana: There is an alert of heavy rain in these states from 6-12 July. Floods, landslides, and cloudbursts have been prevailing in Himachal Pradesh for the last several days. Schools have been closed in many districts for the last few days.

Schools and colleges will remain closed due to heavy rains in Palghar, Maharashtra. Palghar District Collector Dr. Indu Rani Jakhar has declared a holiday in all schools, colleges, coaching centers, and other educational institutions in the district on 7 July 2025 under the Disaster Management Act 2005.
