According to reports, Intel revealed the dates of the impending layoffs last week, indicating that they would start on July 15. The corporation is beginning layoffs with 107 employees tied to its Santa Clara, California, headquarters, according to a report by CRN.
The action was a component of a larger restructuring and cost-cutting plan that CEO Lip-Bu Tan unveiled in April of this year to boost the business's performance. The report states that Intel submitted a notice under California's Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) Act.
A 60-day notice period or a four-week notice period with nine weeks of pay and benefits will be given to impacted employees, the business said in the filing. "As we announced earlier this year, we are taking steps to become a leaner, faster, and more efficient company," an Intel representative told the outlet in a statement.
We can better meet the needs of our clients and improve our performance by simplifying our organization and giving our engineers more authority.

According to the Reuters article, Sachin Katti, who was recently promoted to chief technology and AI officer at Intel, would now be responsible for part of Yeboah-Amankwah's strategic responsibilities. Furthermore, two sources have confirmed to Reuters that the company's venture capital arm, Intel Capital, would now report directly to Lip-Bu Tan.
