Ranveer Singh is back—and this time, he’s gritty, wounded, and ready for war. On his birthday, the makers of Dhurandhar dropped a pulse-pounding first look that has already set the internet ablaze. Directed by Uri filmmaker Aditya Dhar, the film promises high-octane action, emotional depth, and a haunting performance by Ranveer that fans are calling one of his most intense transformations yet.

The 2-minute-40-second first glimpse opens with Singh sporting long hair, a scruffy beard, and a cigarette dangling from his lips as he quietly works at a restaurant, seemingly hiding in plain sight. But it doesn’t take long before the quiet boils into chaos. The teaser hints at a revenge-driven arc, setting the tone for what looks like a bloody path of justice and reckoning.

But Dhurandhar isn’t riding on Ranveer’s star power alone. The film boasts an impressive ensemble cast, all of whom leave a mark in the short but impactful teaser.

Meet the characters
Sara Arjun plays Ranveer’s love interest and is seen sharing romantic and playful moments with him, adding a lighter shade to the otherwise intense narrative.

Akshaye Khanna takes on the role of the lead antagonist, appearing in a traditional Pathani suit and exuding a calm but chilling menace that fans have come to love from him.

R. Madhavan, who narrates the teaser, seems to be donning the uniform of an officer. His brief but commanding appearance hints at a significant role that ties into the film’s central conflict.

Arjun Rampal is nearly unrecognisable in a rough new avatar—sporting a golden tooth, thick grey beard, and unfiltered rage. His menacing new look has already sparked intrigue.

Sanjay Dutt, too, appears in a rugged look, with visuals suggesting a strong supporting role.

Inspired by true events?
What’s adding to the buzz is the mysterious yet tantalising plotline. Although the makers have been careful not to give away too much, the teaser opens with a card that reads: “Inspired by true events.”
