The Parksite Police have arrested 27-year-old Akash Baliram Aldar, a resident of Vikhroli, Parksite, on charges of allegedly assaulting and murdering his elder brother, Rahul Aldar, 34. The violent incident allegedly occurred on July 6, and the arrest follows a meticulous police investigation and a damning post-mortem report that confirmed Rahul's death as a homicide.
The incident, as detailed in the FIR, took place around 9:30 AM on July 6 at the Aldar family residence in Jai Matadi Society, Rahul Nagar, Vikhroli West. During a heated argument over financial matters, Akash allegedly launched a brutal attack on Rahul, repeatedly striking him with kicks and punches and attempting to strangle him.
Critically injured, Rahul critically injured in the assault, was immediately rushed to Rajawadi Hospital by his family. However, doctors pronounced him dead upon arrival. Family members initially informed the hospital staff that Rahul had simply collapsed unconscious at home.
Alerted by the hospital administration, the Parksite Police promptly took custody of Rahul's body, sent it for post-mortem examination. An accidental death report was initially filed, and an investigation commenced under Section 194 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) Act.
During initial questioning by the police, Rahul's brother Akash stated that Rahul had a severe alcohol addiction. To help him overcome it, Rahul was admitted to a de-addiction center in Solapur in May 2025. He was brought back home to Mumbai on June 12 after receiving treatment, but his drinking habits did not cease. Akash claimed Rahul was found unconscious at home on July 6.
The Police also questioned Rahul's father, Baliram Shankar Aldar, 58, and Rahul's wife. All three provided conflicting statements. Police also questioned Rahul's friends and neighbors. Meanwhile, Rahul's father and brother had taken his body to their native village, Badlewadi, Madha, Solapur, for the last rites.
The turning point came with the official post-mortem report, which definitively stated that Rahul Aldar's death was a direct result of severe assault and strangulation. Further police investigation corroborated these findings, conclusively linking Rahul's death to the beating inflicted by Akash.

It was revealed in the police investigation that the deceased Rahul had a severe alcohol addiction had placed a significant financial burden on the family, who had spent considerable sums on his de-addiction treatment, seemingly to no avail. This ongoing issue appears to have been the root cause of the violent altercation between the brothers.
Finally, Police Sub-Inspector Chandrakant Nandyappa Mali of the Parksite Police Station filed a complaint on behalf of the government, registering a case under Section 103 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) Act in this matter.
