Lucknow: Industrial Development Minister Nand Gopal Gupta ‘Nandi’, a cabinet member in the Yogi Adityanath led government, has raised serious concerns over bureaucratic interference in his functioning. In a letter to the Chief Minister, Nandi accused top officials of blocking departmental work, ignoring directions, and favouring select individuals in violation of policy.
The minister alleged that officers were making decisions arbitrarily, hiding key files, and passing proposals that breach regulations to benefit a few. “For the past two years, officers have refused to comply with repeated requests for important documents,” Nandi stated.
Despite a directive issued from the Chief Minister's Office on October 29, 2024, to present all pending files within a week, he claimed the files were never submitted, even six months later.
Nandi also flagged a specific case where an official was removed following Allahabad High Court’s observations over selective decision-making. “In similar situations, different individuals have been treated differently, some have been favoured while others dismissed,” his letter noted.
