As soon as the rainy season begins, the danger of termites in houses increases rapidly. These small insects may look minor but slowly hollow out wood, books, furniture and even walls. Often, people use chemicals available in the market to protect themselves from termites, but they want to avoid their side effects. You can protect your house from termites by adopting some home remedies.

Neem oil is considered to be the most effective for termites. The natural elements present in it not only kill termites but also stop their effects. By spraying neem oil at regular intervals on the area affected by termites, the termites are gradually eliminated. 

Alum water 

Termites cannot tolerate the strong smell of alum. For this, mix alum powder in half a liter of water and spray it. Its effect will be visible in a few days, and termites will completely disappear from your house. 

Salt 

Ordinary salt present in the house also helps in getting rid of termites. By sprinkling salt or spraying salt water on the affected area, termites start dying. 

Bitter gourd juice 

Due to its bitter taste and smell, bitter gourd juice is also effective in removing termites. By spraying it continuously for a few days, termites completely disappear from the house and do not return again. 

vinegar 

A mixture of vinegar and lemon juice is considered an easy and home remedy to eliminate termites. Sprinkle this solution at the place in the house where termites are found and repeat this every two days, which will completely eliminate the termites. 

boric acid

This is considered an old method of pest control. As soon as the termite comes in contact with boric acid, its nervous system is affected, and it dies.

Termites thrive in moist places, so it is important that there is proper ventilation system in the house and water leakage is repaired immediately. Also, keeping wooden furniture in the sun from time to time is also beneficial.
