Newcastle's wantaway forward Alexander Isak has reportedly told the club he still wants to join Liverpool after holding crunch talks with the hierarchy.
The Sweden striker has already accused the club's ownership of "broken promises" over his future and on Monday he held discussions with top figures in an attempt to find a solution to the ongoing transfer saga.
Isak has not trained with the Newcastle squad this summer after refusing to jet out to their pre-season tour of Asia and has continued to exile himself from Eddie Howe's group since the start of the season.
And according to the Telegraph, Isak has insisted he is determined to remain on strike until he gets his move to Anfield.
Newcastle chairman Yasir Al-Rumayyan led a delegation of Public Investment Fund chiefs, including co-owner Jamie Reuben, who met with Isak at his house this week.

The pair went into the meeting hoping to strike a deal with Isak that would lead to him returning to the squad, but there was no progress in their desire to bring him back into the team, the report says.
It adds that Isak has vowed to stay on strike until he is granted an exit from St James' Park or the transfer window shuts.
