Manchester United defender Lisandro Martinez has posted an encouraging update on his return from injury on social media. The centre-back has been absent from action since February with an ACL injury.
Generally, ACL injuries demand approximately eight months of rehabilitation, suggesting a potential comeback could materialise next month. The Argentine suffered the setback duringthe Premier League home loss to Crystal Palace in the previous campaign.
Ruben Amorim confirmed, "Assessment of the injury is ongoing to determine the appropriate course of treatment and the timescale of his rehabilitation. "
His comeback is urgently required for United, who have struggled to register a single clean sheet across their five fixtures in all competitions this term. A potential return around the October international window has been suggested, though an earlier appearance hasn't been completely dismissed.

On Wednesday, Martinezutilised his Instagram account to share a progress report on his rehabilitation. Whilst no definitive timeline exists for his anticipated comeback, Martinez seems to be moving closer towards his return.
He shared an image of himself jogging alongside United physiotherapist Ibrahim Kerem at Carrington during his personalised training programme.
This marks the first occasion supporters have witnessed the Argentine back on the training pitch during his gradual recovery process.
Saturday evening's encounter against Chelsea is anticipated to arrive too early for Martinez's involvement.
Amorim is set to give an injury update on Friday during his pre-match press conference, with Matheus Cunha, Diogo Dalot and Mason Mount all absent from the 3-0 loss to Manchester City.
