Love Island's Shakira Khan's mum reveals true feelings on Harry Cooksley after villa meet

Their connection may be undeniable to some viewers of this series of Love Island but it looks as though Shakira's mum Sukina Khan had severe reservations before meeting Harry Cooksley. Sukina came face to face with the budding footballer during the show's iconic Meet The Family part of the show and was quick to find out if he had genuine feelings towards her daughter.

This comes after Harry was hailed as the bad guy for the way things ended between himself and Helena. But during a recent interview, it looks as though Harry may have redeemed himself, if Sukina's comments are anything to go by. It comes after one Mirror writer claimed ‘the new Bonnie Blue documentary may be the worst thing I've ever seen on Channel 4’.

Shakira's mum has said: "It’s becoming apparent that there are genuine feelings there. I do think that Harry is a different person with Shakira, always."

She added to The Sun: "It’s not that he gets boring or quietens down - because I’m pretty sure they have a laugh together. But he does bring out a deeper and more intense side of him."

Sukina went on to add: "I do empathise with Helena. You didn’t see it but I did speak to Helena, and I did express that I hope she’s OK. We’ll just see, let’s watch this space."

During her villa visit, Shakira was seen telling her mum: "I adore him and I really wish I didn’t, that’s the problem. It would be easier if I hated him, but I don’t." And in response, Sukina said: "What I will say, with him, he can prove himself to you before he has to prove himself to me."

And even though it was clear that Sukina was willing to give Harry a chance despite her defiant words to her daughter, it was made clear for the world to see that she was not willing to let Harry off the hook any time soon.

This was noticed when the footballer turned reality TV star walked over to the firepit in order to introduce himself amd was met with resistance by Sukina.

Shakira's mum seemingly refused to stand up and greet him. And to make matters worse, she then said: "We’re not hugging Harry." And taking to TikTok Sukina then addressed the situation between Harry and Helena and the way things ended between the pair.

She told her followers: "I think the whole of the UK is (surprised). I’m sorry, but we thought it was ‘undeniable’ Harry."

The Meet The Family segment of the show often gives the Love Islander's food for thought when their friends and family provide their perspective on their hook-ups with another Islander.

Last week it was reported that Harry and Helena split just days after going exclusive following a blazing row over Shakira. This came just after Shakira ended her romance with Conor Phillips leaving the door open for Harry to walk straight in, much to Helena's displeasure.
