Sarina Wiegman's team booked their place in Sunday night’s final in Switzerland after yet another nailbiting late comeback. Having clawed their way back to a draw before winning on penalties in the quarter final against Sweden, the Lionesses looked like they were heading home in Tuesday night’s semi-final against Italy.

Still 1-0 down with 95 minutes on the clock, the team refused to bow out and it was teenage striker Michelle Agyemang who came off the bench to find the equaliser, before fellow super-sub, Chloe Kelly, found the extra-time winner.

England’s Women are now just one game away from taking home the trophy in what would be back-to-back Euro victories for the Lionesses, who beat Germany in the 2022 final.
