Salman Khan made his Bollywood debut with a supporting role in the film "Biwi Ho To Aisi," where veteran actress Rekha played the lead heroine. According to the film’s director JK Bihari, Rekha was not only a co-star but also a guiding presence for Salman on set. Bihari recalled that despite Salman’s later reputation for arriving late, during this early film he was punctual and serious about his work, though still learning the ropes.
JK Bihari shared that Rekha often helped Salman when he struggled with his lines, stepping in to assist him patiently due to his lack of formal training at the time. This nurturing dynamic helped Salman build confidence during his formative years in the industry.
The bond between Rekha and Salman is legendary. Rekha once revealed a touching story on the Bigg Boss stage about Salman’s childhood admiration for her. She said that as a young boy of about 6 or 7, Salman would follow her on his bicycle during morning walks. Unaware that this was love, Salman reportedly told his family as a child that he wanted to marry the girl he followed, referring to Rekha.
This glimpse into Salman Khan’s early career and personal life highlights Rekha’s influential role and the special connection they share—one that started decades ago and marked the beginning of Salman’s journey in Bollywood.
