Emmerdale fans 'mute' show as they make complaint over star

Just minutes into Thursday's episode of Emmerdale, fans complained and said that they would be "muting" the ITV soap. The hour-long showing followed the funeral of murdered Nate Robinson (Jurell Carter), with emotions very high, from tears and sadness to sourness and anger.

The previous episode saw Nate's widow, Tracy (Amy Walsh) make the harsh decision to ban his dad, Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) and the rest of the rowdy family from the funeral. But once Cain got wind of the bereaved wife getting a payout from Nate's life insurance, he decided that he would be attending anyway - and there would be nothing that Tracy could do to stop him. Today's episode saw the Dingle clan rock up to church with a bang. Sam Dingle (James Hooton) led the pack of mourners with his drum as Tracy and Nate's mother Cara (Carryl Thomas) kicked off.

But it was a tearful Tracy that bothered fans, with some saying that her emotion was nothing but "crocodile tears". Posting to X (formerly Twitter), one fan fumed: "Please. Tracey has got to go! Acting holier than thou yet she laid up with Caleb and was gonna leave Nate at one point. Cain has every right to go to his son's funeral #Emmerdale."

Another complained: "Not sure I can take an hour of Tracey Trollop's whinging & false tears....thank God for the mute button. #Emmerdale," while a third moaned: "From whiny Tater to whiny Sarah. Me tea is coming back up," followed by a puking emoji.

"Can Tracy just shut up!!! #Emmerdale," another demanded while someone else wrote: "Can this be Tracy's leaving do, too #Emmerdale."

As the funeral proceeded, Tracy gave her eulogy over to John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth), not knowing that he was actually the man behind her son's death. But before he could take to the stand, Cain stood up and said a few words himself.

In an emotional apology, he said he loved Nate and wished that things had ended on better terms. There wasn't a dry eye among the Dingles as the man with a tough exterior showed that he is only human.

Once he was done, it was John's turn. There was a tense moment as it seemed as though he may make a confession but instead he urged the feuding families to come together instead in honour of the deceased.
