An Emmerdale actor has been left devastated following the death of his father as the on-screen star has been inundated with messages of support. James Moore who plays Ryan Stocks in the ITV soap has been suffering from heartbreak away from the show. Taking to Instagram, James, 33, revealed his father, Stephen Moore, had died in June of this year. In an emotional tribute, the actor delivered a heartwrenching message to his fans as he confirmed his dad confirmed his father's cause of death was Multiple Myeloma - a form of blood cancer.
Stephen was aged 69 at the time of his death and his son is now appealing for his followers to donate to charities who help with the diagnosis and treatment of the progressive type of blood cancer. In a heartbreaking plea, James said: "Thank you for listening. If you would like to donate to help me raise money in memory of my dad, please follow the link below."
He accompanied the Instagram post with a candid video which showed images of his late dad.
In the clip James stated: "My dad Stephen Moore passed away on June 12, 2025. From the blood cancer multiple myeloma. He was an amazing father of three sons, a loving husband and a doting grandfather.
"On August 16, it would have been his 70th birthday. I made a donation to the charity Myleoma UK in his honour but it got me thinking there must be more that I can do.
"A lot of people take part in sponsored running and walking events but those kind of things aren't for me."
He continued: "But over the past couple of months I've become really invested in bouldering. With that in mind I plan to do a charity clan with friends and family taking part in Cheltenham.
"We will be climbing a 17m wall on harnesses. Hopefully doung the equivalent of Ben Nevis over the course of the day."
James concluded: "I'm doing this in memory of my dad. His strength and resilience was amazing. And I'll miss him for the rest of my life."
His 23,500 followers flocked to the comment section as one penned: "I'm so sorry to hear about your Dad lovely! What a great way to raise money in his memory! Sending you and your family lots of love."
Another commented: "I'm so incredibly sorry about your Dad," while a third added: "So sorry for your loss @jamesmooreactor. Sending love your way."
James has appeared on Emmerdale as the long-lost son of Charity Dingle since 2018.
Last year, the star tied the knot with his long-term partner in a gorgeous lakeside ceremony.
James, who has cerebral palsy, and wife Sophie Edwards splashed out on a quirky ceremony for their friends and family which featured all of their favourite things including pumpkins to a bouncy castle.
