England are hoping to take one step closer to retaining their Euros crown this evening when they face Italy in the semi-finals. Sarina Wiegman's side survived a number of scares to reach the final four of the competition, and a tough contest awaits them at the Stade de Geneve.
After two late goals saw the Lionesses take the game to penalties against Sweden in the quarter-finals, both sides were lacklustre from the spot. England ultimately progressed though, winning 3-2 despite missing four penalties. Italy booked their spot in the semis with a 2-1 win over Norway, with captain Cristiana Girelli scoring a last-minute goal to set up an enthralling clash this evening.
