Pisa finally ended its long wait for a Serie A victory, defeating Cremonese 1-0 on Sunday to record its first top-flight win in more than three decades.
The newly promoted side, back in Italy’s premier division after 34 years, last tasted victory at this level in May 1991 when it beat Bari by the same scoreline.

Idrissa Touré scored the decisive goal in the 75th minute, heading in a Mattéo Tramini cross to seal three points in a match where Pisa looked the sharper side for most of the first half. Cremonese responded strongly after the break, creating several chances, but failed to find an equaliser.
The goal marked Touré’s first of the season and lifted Pisa to 15th in the table, two points clear of the relegation zone. The club now holds a record of one win, six draws and four defeats, with losses coming against Bologna, Udinese, Roma and Napoli.
In their 11 matches so far, Pisa have scored eight goals and conceded 14, giving them a goal difference of minus six. The side will aim to build on this long-awaited win when they next face Sassuolo later this month.
Cremonese, sitting 10th with five points more than Pisa, slipped after missing chances to secure a draw.
At the top end of the table, Napoli, Inter Milan, AC Milan and Roma are separated by just a single point, while Genoa, Verona and Fiorentina remain in the relegation zone.
