"For many Americans, Diwali is a timeless reminder of light’s victory over darkness. Diwali is gaining official recognition across the US, with states like New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Texas, and from 2026, California, becoming the first on West Coast, including the festival in school calendars or as a state holiday.
